Fashion and Style trends in today's world

Fashion, Style, Costumes, vogue, trend, craze, rage, mania, mode, fad, fancy, latest style, etc. , etc.,.... The above are the few names and changes takes place when a person tries to change the looks and physical appearance.

In today's world, being trendy has become one of the most important factor for the success in both personal and professional life and you can understand what these benefits would be and how successful you would be with just a change in appearance and behavior.

Let me explain you my experience here, you may feel like I may be a dumb person, humorous . In the initial stages of my career, that is immediate time post completing my college studies, I joined in a well reputed organization as an employee. Since I's new to the workplace and moreover that was my first job, I didn't understand the importance of a person's looks and  appearance for the success. In my department, there were others who use to maintain trending style everyday and I's like going to work in casual wear. I's very hard working and the one of the best employees in that organization, however, when it comes to give presentations in front of the delegates or higher management, the other guy was called out, who use to walk along the ongoing trend. At that time, I could not understand why that person was called and me not. When I asked this question to my manager, she never use to tell it as there was no "Dressing Code" policy in that organization, she just appreciates me for the work and use to give exceptions whenever asked.

I continued working over there for almost a year, later I started hunting for jobs with higher salary, ofcourse. I's hired by a MultiNational Company which has a good brand value in the market. In the initial stages when I joined this organisation, without knowing the benefits of the looks and appearance, fortunately, I use to come in very professional manner which I continued for almost six months of joining. Post six months, my track started taking me back to the original pavilion, that is casual look. Here again, I's falling behind the other employees in terms of growth and the reason was? Yes, you got it!

However, somehow, with my skills, I's promoted to the next level. Here the actual story started!

Before getting promoted, I use to maintain a descent style, but after getting promoted with increased responsibility, working for extended hours, because of less time to sleep, I couldn't even maintain the descent style. In this role, I worked for almost 2 years. Those days, suddenly one change took place among my colleagues who were at the same level. They suddenly started becoming "Fashion Icons"! I mean, they started following classy trends. Even at that point of time, I couldn't understand why these fellows are changing themselves. There was a complete change in their appearance, the way they speak, walking, attitude, communication, etc.,. I's literally surprised to see all these sudden changes and continued my own style. During this time, a promotion offer came to our way. All of my colleagues were excited and started preparing for an interview. And here, I's very relaxed because I knew, if management goes with the skill, I'm the most deserving person for that post. The interview process was conducted, myself and my colleagues gave our best to be through the interview. I's very relaxed and was sure about my selection. One fine day, management circulated the selected candidates list and to my surprise, my name was not there.

Even after experiencing this, I couldn't understand the key factor rather reason behind me. Ultimately, the "Area of Improvement." Again my routine started, continued with the same style and routine work. Although I's trying very hard to reach my goal, I's not able to. At one point I's very depressed and gave up trying for the promotions. In office, I've very good respect, reputation, people call me as a "Talent Tree", Super Star (called to the employees who does exceptionally well).

One day I's going for a tea break. One of the managers happen to pass through by me. I offered a tea to him and he agreed.

"This one cup of tea, has broken the "Twist" and surprised me with the facts I came to know!"

We went to the coffee stall, asked chai wala to make two cups of tea. I's suffering from the depression at that time.  I's very quite while the manager was accompanying me.. Chai wala made cups of tea, we occupied a table and started having tea. During all these actions, some or the other thing was going on continuously in my mind. Manager started the conversation with some general discussion. This general discussion turned into a debate. During that debate between me and the manager, we spoke about all the aspects and requirements (termed in today's corporate world) to build a successful career. And here the most un-understandable requirement was answered. That manager said:
No matter how good you're at your skills, how hard you work, how loyal you're towards work, the ultimate requirement in today's world is:

"Your Looks & Appearance and Excellent Communication skills besides having limited skill to whatever work you do"

This simple statement helped me solve all the puzzles which I's trying to resolve for a successful career. So, my dear friends, I'm telling you from my experience, if you want to build a successful career, achieve your desired goals, touch the sky limits, all you need is to

So friends in this New year, what the fashion and style trend is going to be? How people want them to look like?


These days, everyone wants to go with western style and looks like the fashion lies only in western wear. The youth is adopting western culture to large extent. Especially in corporate culture, the major percentage of employees have already adopted western culture, though some adopted due to passion, some for the change in looks, some to impress their special ones, some to feel comfortable, and so on...

The question what I usually get here is why do we always need to adopt someone else culture? Why do we always have an increase in demand for a particular product? Instead, why can't we have own style? Your own style is your identification which would definitely brings you apart from the crowd besides resulting in credibility. Though Jawaharlal Nehru was the one who use to maintain this style, these days Modi has adopted that style with a slight change in the Kurta which has now become famous by the "Modi's Kurta" and is creating a buzz in the news.
